What it means to be a Multi-State Cooperative Society.
Registered under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002, SAMRAT is owned collectively by its members rather than a small group of founders or outside investors. Capital, governance, and profit all flow through a democratic, member-first structure that operates legally across state lines.
Membership
Any eligible individual — farmer, professional, or investor — can join by subscribing to member capital. Members are simultaneously owners, customers, and often employees of the cooperative, giving each person a direct stake in outcomes.
Governance
An elected Board of Directors provides democratic oversight and policy direction, following one-member-one-vote principles under the MSCS Act. Day-to-day operations are run by a professional management team accountable to that Board.
Profit-Sharing
Surplus generated across the seven verticals is reinvested in expansion and returned to members as dividends and patronage benefits — not extracted by a handful of external shareholders.
Pan-India Reach
Multi-state registration lets SAMRAT operate, raise member capital, and expand across state boundaries, while unlocking access to NABARD and NCDC funding and cooperative-specific tax benefits.
Democratic accountability, professional execution.
SAMRAT is governed by an elected board under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002 — combining member oversight with a professional management team that runs each vertical to corporate standards.

Built in Kochi, for communities across India.
SAMRAT began with a simple observation: Kerala's farmers, artisans, and small entrepreneurs were creating enormous value — in bananas and spices, in dairy and hospitality, in classrooms and cafés — yet rarely captured a fair share of it themselves.
Rather than build another private company chasing outside capital, our founding members chose the cooperative route — pooling member capital, adopting corporate-grade execution, and structuring SAMRAT as a Multi-State Cooperative Society from day one. That decision now underpins all seven verticals, from Dehydrated Powders to Modern K-12 Schools.
We chose Kochi, Kerala as our headquarters deliberately: a gateway to South India's premium consumer base, a hub of export infrastructure, and home to one of India's most successful cooperative traditions.
